Welcome to the BalticGrid-II Web Site
On 1 May 2008, the BalticGrid Second Phase (BalticGrid-II) project has started. It is designed to increase the impact, adoption and reach, and to further improve the support of services and users of the recently created e-Infrastructure in the Baltic States. This will be achieved by an extension of the BalticGrid infrastructure to Belarus; interoperation of the gLite-based infrastructure with UNICORE and ARC based Grid resources in the region; identifying and addressing the specific needs of new scientific communities such as nano-science and engineering sciences; and by establishing new Grid services for linguistic research, Baltic Sea environmental research, data mining tools for communication modelling and bioinformatics. - In the period of October 27-31, 2008 the following joint events will be held in the United Institute of Informatics Problems, National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (Minsk): 1) Second International Conference "Supercomputer systems and applications"; 2) 1st BalticGrid-II All Hands Meeting; 3) the Belarussian - Russian seminar on Grid technologies and 4) Scientific - educational seminar for youth.

Participation of BalticGrid-II in EGEE'08 in Istanbul! BalticGrid-II invites you to:
- visit the project stand at the EGEE'08 Exhibition, from 22-26 September 2008,
- attend BG-II demo stand where the Semti Kamols - a linguistic application, gridified and integrated with Migration Desktop - will be demonstrated,
- participate in the session: "Application Support and Requirements for Grids", which will be held within the Collaborating Projects Track, involving 3 projects: BalticGrid-II, Euforia, g-Eclipse - on Thursday, 25 September, 11.00 - 12.30.
You will have an opportunity to learn more about the second phase of the BalticGrid project, watch BG-II application demo as well as obtain the dissemination materials.
